Youjung Kim is a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Science at Texas A&M University (TAMU), and is currently teaching "Introduction to GIS," "Digital Communication," and "Landscape Design Studio" courses in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at TAMU.

 

His background originates in design with a Bachelor degree in Architecture (Sungkyunkwan Univ.), and two Master degrees in Urban Design (Columbia and Seoul Nat'l Univ.). He has seven years of professional experience as an urban designer/planner with various scales (architecture, community planning, and city comprehensive planning) as well as international projects (Asia, Middle East, and South America).

 

His research areas lie in urban land-change modeling, urban/coastal resilience, community/urban scaled planning/design, and scenario planning for climate change. His research goal is to contribute to creating sustainable and resilient communities especially free from man-made/natural disasters.
